Henry Ford Museum Salts

Star Bar

Henry Ford Museum at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan commissioned reproductions of a Lacy Period salt that resembles OP-2 & 3 in the Neal book. OP stands for Oval Pedestal. The salts were made in bright blue, clear, and avocado green that reflected the era's obsession with that color. They were made by Fostoria Glass Company, not Taiwan or Mexico as previously suggested in the book 5000 Open Salts.

The mark "HFM" can be found on the plain band in the place circled in the picture above. It is only on one side. A close up of the blue and clear marks are below, along with one salt still bearing the original Fostoria paper label.
